Yesterday I did't have an event ticket so a friend and I decided to walk to Buckingham Palace. It took about an hour but it was worth it. There are so many things to see down every street. The palace was cool, but not cool enough for us to pay the enterence fee. We walked on and went inside a nice hotel looking to get afternoon tea. I should have known by the judgmental faces on the hostesses face, but the tea was £40. That's a little too expensive for a student budget, so we exited quickly.

We ended up walking back to Regent street to the little place we found earlier in the week called FAT for tea and cookies. The owner recognized us and sat down and talked for an hour. We learned a lot about what to do for fun in London. We also learned a little bit more about the business. It is called a pop-up business, and it takes over vacant space and uses it for very cheap rent for 30 to 60 days, until the landlord can find another tenent. It sounds like a pretty cool idea. Spaces are not abandoned and businesses can be more risky and innovative.

After, we decided to try out some of the recommendations we had gotten and headed to Old Street to get pizza and drinks. It was pretty cool because it was only locals. We tried to not stand out too much. We headed back to the hostel to meet up with other people and went out for the rest of the night and had a good time.
